Evitts Landing – Allegany College Entrance

Project Overview

  • The project purpose was to relocate the existing Allegany College entrance further away from the new WMHS Hospital roundabout intersection to accommodate a traffic volume increas The entrance would serve as a combined access point to the Allegany College of Maryland and the Evitts Landing mixed use development at the former Mitchell Farm.
  • The design included a complete redesign and reconstruction of Old Willowbrook Road.
  • BBA successfully coordinated multiple stakeholders having a financial interest and approval authority including the Maryland State Highway Administration, Allegany College, The City of Cumberland, Allegany County, and the develop
  • This project included a traffic impact analysis, traffic signal design, new access/intersection design, roundabout feasibility analysis, and substantial alterations (widening and reconfiguration) to Willowbrook Road.
