Goddard Space Flight Center – Tennant Office Building

Project Overview

  • Multi-story structure of flexible office and support space – total capacity 1,000 employees.
  • The Goddard Space Flight Center is home to the nation’s largest organization of scientists, engineers, and technologists that build spacecraft, instruments, and new technology to study the Earth, the sun, our solar system, and the universe.  The GSFC is growing rapidly, and is in need of additional office space to accommodate partnerships with other commercial and government organizations.  The design provides an open space work environment in a think tank atmosphere, promoting communication and creativity.
  • BBA provided all of the master site planning and conceptual infrastructure design, including a comprehensive analysis for re-development and demolition of existing facilities.  These elements include parking, utilities, access, stormwater management, etc…
  • Certified LEED Silver, in accordance with the US Green Building Council’s (USGBC) “Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Rating System Version 2.2 for New Construction (NC).”
